Latest Afrobeats single Exit, delivered by Afropop superstar Mr Eazi, featuring the Soweto Gospel Choir, is making positive impressions as fans await the release of the award-winning musician’s new album on Friday, October 27, 2023.

The striking rhythm is a track off The Evil Genius project and it is a follow-up on his Fefe Na Fefe rendition released early this month.

Recording thousands of views so far, the Surrender hitmaker, in the new single, sings about counting his blessings and “finding trouble these days”, how family turns to demons, and thanks God for “keeping things smoothly.”

South Africa’s Soweto Gospel Choir delivered an enticing chorus on the tune, described as Mr Eazi’s “most personal and inward-looking songs.”

The Evil Genius album is said to have been recorded over two years globetrotting from Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Rwanda, the US, and the UK. The style of the album is a  blend of Afrobeats, Afropop, gospel, hiplife, highlife, and folklore summing the whole project into “a remarkably fresh pan-African fusion.”

With 16 tracks, the album has guest features including Angelique Kidjo (Benin), Tekno (Nigeria), Efya (Ghana), Whoisakin (Nigeria), Joeboy (Nigeria), and three-time Grammy winners, Soweto Gospel Choir (South Africa).

Contributing producers include Kel-P (Nigeria), Knucks (U.K.), Michael Brun (Haiti), Andre Vibez (Nigeria), Yung Willis (Nigeria), Nonso Amadi (Nigeria/Canada), KillBeatz (Ghana), M.O.G Beatz (Ghana), E Kelly (Nigeria), Type A (Nigeria), Stikmatik (U.K.), Phantom (Nigeria), Venna (U.K.), KDream (Nigeria), and Mr. Eazi himself.

The Evil Genius delves into subjects such as love, betrayal, loneliness, and family, expressed through three distinctive acts.

Mr Eazi was recently recognized for his philanthropic work at Trace Awards 2023, held on October 21, 2023, in Kigali, Rwanda, where top African artistes were celebrated for their outstanding works over the years.
