Afrobeats singer Omah Lay brought his Bend You single to life when he brought on a female fan in a raunchy stage performance in London on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

The performance has since drawn mixed reactions from his fans, some of whom thought the episode was staged. Others believed the female actor “disrespected” his boyfriend at the show.

Bend You is one of the songs on Omah Lay’s Boy Alone EP, released sometime in July 2022. The sensational performer who mounted the stage at the Eventim Apollo in London early this week decided to dramatise the lyrics.

The video circulated widely and captured the singer rocking the female dancer in an energetic and seductive dance. Fans cheered them on as their silhouette emerged through the curtains

While some observers believed the lady was paid to act, others expressed reservations about the appropriateness of the act.

“This girl at Omah Lay’s concert has no regard for her boyfriend,” a follower wrote. “Imagine seeing my girl go down on her knee, arching her back, and twerking for a musician on stage. The babe did the guy dirty,” another added.

Some remarks suggested the lady on stage had been in a relationship with his boyfriend for seven years, but his partner, who spoke later online, clarified that they had been dating for less than a year.

Another user said: “Omah Lay is innocent because the girl could have declined him by not coming to the stage if only she had regard for her boyfriend.”

Others believed that Omah Lay could have used professional dancers for his concert rather than “spoiling people’s relationships.”

“She didn’t do anything wrong; she was just having some innocent fun,” a user defended the lady. The Holy Ghost crooner has not spoken publicly about the concert and criticisms, except in another short video in which he expressed affection for a lady.
