New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs on Tuesday broke his silence and touched on the viral video that appeared to show him handing a bag of pink crystals to women during a boat ride.
Though Diggs, who is rumored to be dating rapper Cardi B, touched on the incident, he told reporters that he prefers to keep his personal matters to himself.
“Obviously, I want to get as candid with you guys as possible,” Diggs, 31, told reporters, per NFL.com. “I kind of, like, have a thing where [I don’t] talk about my personal life with people I don’t know personally. I’m pretty sure everybody here, men and women, are great people, but I try to keep my personal life personal.”
Though he did not provide additional details about the incident, Diggs disclosed that he spoke with their head coach Mike Vrabel as well as other people within the football franchise. He, however, similarly did not go into detail about the discussion.
“I had a conversation with Vrabes, obviously. I’m gonna echo everything that he said,” Diggs stated. “He told me he’s hoping everybody’s making good decisions. I had a conversation with people in the building, as well, so … Everything else is everything else. The particulars is all internal.”
Reporters still pressed him with questions related to the incident but the 31-year-old stood his ground.
“I don’t want to be rude, but I would hate to repeat myself for the fourth time. You want me to repeat myself again? And say the same thing again?” he questioned.
In the video, which was circulated on social media last month, Diggs is seen aboard a boat with three women and having a conversation with them before he hands them the pink crystals. It also appeared Cardi B was on that same boat during the trip.
Diggs touched on the incident after Vrabel shared his views on the video and Diggs’ actions, Face2Face Africa previously reported.
Though Vrabel confirmed that he had indeed seen the video, he refused to comment on whether he and Diggs had talked about it, per FOX 7 Austin.
“Any conversations that I’ve had with Stefon will remain between him, I and the club,” Vrabel said before an optional practice that Diggs was not part of. “It’s something that we’re aware of,” Vrabel added. “Obviously, we want to make great decisions on and off the field. … The message will be the same for all our players, that we’re trying to make great decisions.”
