Nine nursery rhymes you probably didn’t realize were racist

The popular 1957 Australian song talks about the emancipation of Aboriginal Australians. In the song, black people were referred to as “Abos”, a derogatory term used to demean them. The original lyrics are:

Let me Abo go loose, Lou
Let me Abo go loose:
He’s of no further use, Lou
So let me Abo go loose.
