Five black musicians you probably didn’t know double as politicians

Musicians and politicians are known to share similar traits. These traits come alive during their engagements in the public space.

Unlike politicians, musicians have a unique advantage whenever they venture into politics because they have built a large following over time.

With a penchant for attention and recognition, musicians fight the status quo in society, and go a long way to prove they can do more than just sing hence the reason why some venture into politics.

In this article, we cast the spotlight on five black musicians who ventured into politics.
