Kamala Harris

California’s junior senator, Kamala Harris, is a bit of an enigma. She is likable, as far as politicians come but for whatever reason, her politics do not draw in a lot of people.

Some have attributed this syndrome of near-greatness to misogynoir. But her past as a hard lining state prosecutor and her tendency to oscillate between hot and cold on big issues (Medicare For All) have also blighted some of her shine.

Whoever chooses Harris, however, is choosing a woman popular with other Black women of different ideological bends as well as the Democratic establishment.
