One Student’s Mission To Have An Impact On The Lives Of Others

On January 12, 2010, the lives of millions of Haitians changed forever. The earthquake that hit the nation took many precious lives, destroyed families and leveled communities. Surprisingly, when first-year medical student, Alia Sommerville, arrived in Haiti six months later not much had changed. Yet, there was an unwavering sense of pride in the people for their country, joy and resilience in the younger generation and a greater appreciation for life in those living.
