The wife of the former president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe is no stranger to scandalous headlines. She has been implicated in a number of scandals. Most recently she has been adversely mentioned in the Ivory smuggling racket
According to the Sunday Mail, the former First Lady oversaw the shipment f large ‘consignments of ivory to China, the United Arab Emirates and the United States, among other destinations’. It further indicated that she had forced officials in the government to issue her with export permits to ‘gift’ ivory to international leaders.
She is apparently under investigation alongside other government officials involved in the racket.
