Incarcerated Canadian rapper and singer Tory Lanez has hit back at Megan Thee Stallion after she filed for a restraining order against him. Per TMZ, Tory’s legal team said the allegations brought against the 32-year-old by Megan were unfounded.

“Megan’s claim that Tory filed legal docs to undermine her new Amazon Prime documentary is ‘ridiculous,'” the Jerry Sprunger singer’s legal team said, adding that the time at which those legal documents were filed had no connection with her documentary’s release.

His legal team also said the documents were rather filed to fulfil legal deadlines. As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Tory, whose real name is Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, shot Megan in the feet during an argument after they left a pool party hosted at reality star Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood mansion in July 2020. Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, had to undergo surgery to remove bullet fragments from her foot following the shooting.

He was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he was found guilty on three gun-related charges in the shooting. Lanez was convicted of three felonies: assault with a semi-automatic firearm; having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

Megan’s request for a restraining order against Tory comes after she was granted a protective order against him following his conviction, ABC News reported. That protective order, however, expired in 2023.

“Mr. Peterson’s continued harassment of Ms. Pete has caused her severe emotional distress and reputational harm,” Megan’s new petition states. “Mr. Peterson is fully aware of the impact of the psychological warfare he has waged against Ms. Pete, yet he continues to deputize his supporters to attack Ms. Pete’s character and integrity.”

The Savage rapper in her petition also claims Tory has employed bloggers to share negative stories about her online, TMZ reported. Sources also told the celebrity and entertainment news outlet that Megan’s legal team has evidence to show that Tory and a blogger who has been sharing those negative stories have a connection. Tory’s father is said to have paid her $3,000 between October 2020 and March 2022.

But Tory’s legal team claim those payments were not linked to the incarcerated rapper and singer, adding that they will have their day in court. They also urged people to “stop believing” Megan’s “narrative” and made mention of the Houston rapper admitting to lying about her sexual relationship with Tory during her interview with Gayle King
