Rihanna has showcased that she is not only good behind the microphones, but, has impressive photoshopping skills. This creativity played out in a playful announcement for Fenty Beauty’s latest campaign.
On July 18, the singer revealed on Instagram that her beauty brand is now an official partner of the Paris Summer Olympics, starting July 26, and the Paralympics, beginning August 28.
To celebrate the partnership, the 36-year-old mom of two shared a humorous photo of herself with a Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb, depicted with stick-figure arms holding hands, in front of the Eiffel Tower, as reported by People.
An eagle-eyed fan noticed something familiar about Rihanna’s photoshopped image. A user on X (formerly Twitter) posted a side-by-side comparison of the Fenty Beauty advertisement with the original photo, which featured Rihanna with her longtime partner, A$AP Rocky.
The original image, taken by photographer Tiziano D., was from the couple’s date in Paris last June.
“I bet A$AP said something about Fenty Music and so got removed from the pic. I want a gloss bomb partner too!” one fan commented under the edited photo on Instagram.
Fenty Beauty’s latest initiative underscores the company’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and celebrating diversity at the Paris Summer Olympics and Paralympics.
As part of the partnership, Fenty Beauty will provide makeup kits to 600 volunteers aged 18-21 who will present medals to athletes. These volunteers will also receive training to achieve the Ceremony of Victories look and will wear outfits designed by LVMH.
“I want everyone to feel beautiful, recognized and empowered, no matter their ethnicity, culture, skin tone or style,” Rihanna shared.
While fans await new music from Rihanna, Fenty Beauty continues to keep them engaged with new product releases.
In June, the brand launched Fenty Hair, a new line of hair care products that Rihanna has been developing for four years.
“Evolving as a woman and even as an artist, hair has been such a huge part of that and a reflection of whatever I’m feeling. So, it changes a lot and my hair goes through a lot. Making this brand, I had to consider all of those things. I want to look fly, but I want my hair to be healthy. How do I do that? All of my products need to strengthen and repair while I’m out just being fabulous,” Rihanna said during a speech made at the June 10 launch party.
