It appears Tiffany Haddish wants the relationship between her ex-boyfriend Common and Jennifer Hudson to thrive as she said she hopes the couple eventually tie the knot. Haddish, 44, commented on her ex-boyfriend’s relationship when the rapper said he’d marry Hudson during an interview with The Breakfast Club.

During the interview, the 52-year-old rapper, born Lonnie Rashid Lynn, had good things to say about the singer and actress. He also touched on how dating a fellow Chicago native has positively connected him to his home.

“I’m gonna be real with you, like, having a lady that’s from Chicago [allows] me to go home and just be home,” the Kingdom rapper said. “And I hadn’t did that in a while, where I was just like going home and just being around my loved ones and didn’t have no work to do.”

He also added: “With all due respect to all the women I’ve dated, it’s all love, but this is a really healthy and beautiful relationship, bro.” Common was also asked about the possibility of marrying the If This Isn’t Love singer – to which he answered in the affirmative.

“I mean, if I’m gonna get married it’s to her. That’s as simple as that,” he stated.

Haddish gave her stamp of approval after The Breakfast Club posted a snippet of the interview on Instagram. “Well there he said it he wants to marry her he aint neva said that abt no woman b4,” a user initially commented before Haddish responded saying, “EXACTLY! I hope they actually get married.”

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Haddish and Common dated for more than a year before breaking up in 2021. After ending their relationship, Common claimed in an interview that their breakup was “mutual.”

At the time, the Glory rapper during an appearance on Hollywood Unlocked With Jason Lee Uncensored said they decided to split after they “came to the understanding that this is what’s gonna be best for us.”

“To still continue to love each other and be there for each other is to not be in a romantic relationship because we won’t be able to give to that. I don’t want to be one foot in, one foot out,” he added.

But Haddish in an interview with The Washington Post said that wasn’t the case. The Eritrean-American comedian and actress said that several things took place before her ex-boyfriend ultimately broke up with her on the phone. The events in question included her then-boyfriend not inviting her to his own birthday party.

“It wasn’t mutual,” Haddish claimed. “It was more him saying, ‘I think this relationship has run its course.’ And I was like, ‘Okay. Like you gonna be a 50-year-old single man. Okay?’”

Despite the circumstances surrounding their breakup, Haddish admitted their relationship was “the healthiest, the funnest relationship I’ve ever had.” “It’s where I felt safest out of all the relationships I’ve ever had,” the Night School star added.
