Shaquille O’Neal is actively transforming his $500 million empire into a family legacy. His eldest daughter, Taahirah O’Neal, has been entrusted with a cherished project.
After weeks of hints, Taahirah O’Neal revealed on Instagram, “Big news — I’ve officially joined the Board of The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation!”

Shaq’s daughter’s graduation magna cum laude from Oglethorpe with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Politics and African American Studies has been a source of great personal pride for him. She applied her marketing expertise to brands like Pepsi and Big Chicken, among others.
After handing over Big Chicken to Craveworthy Brands’ industry experts, Shaq’s 29-year-old has taken the helm of his most personal endeavor: The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation’s $24 million youth athletic facility in Las Vegas. This project, which involves the local government and several sports franchises, is being built for the Boys & Girls Club. While O’Neal manages his vast empire, he has entrusted his daughter with this highly valued project.
Taahirah O’Neal’s Instagram post revealed her long-standing involvement in the project, dating back to the groundbreaking ceremony in June 2025.
She said, “These past few months, the Board and I have been busy behind the scenes—planning, dreaming, and laying the groundwork for what’s to come.”
A former Houston resident, Taahirah O’Neal relocated to Atlanta to be nearer to her father, often joining him for TNT broadcasts and recordings of The Big Podcast.
The Shaquille O’Neal Youth Development Complex, currently under construction in the northeast Las Vegas valley, is projected to open by 2026. This facility will offer hundreds of K-12 students and beyond access to various athletic amenities, including Basketball, football, and combat sports.

The 30,000 sq. ft. “Shaq Youth Complex” will include a UFC gym and a football field, thanks to donations from the Las Vegas Raiders and the UFC.
The O’Neal complex will also feature mental wellness rooms, an early learning center, tech labs, and the nation’s first-ever Communities In Schools Alumni Center.
For Shaquille O’Neal, supporting the Boys & Girls Club was a lifelong ambition, especially since he honed his basketball skills there. This makes his daughter’s involvement even more meaningful.
She reflected, “Visiting the future Shaquille O’Neal Youth Development Complex in Las Vegas was a surreal, full-circle moment. Standing on the ground where thousands of kids will one day play, learn, and thrive was a beautiful reminder of why we do this work.”
Taahirah O’Neal continued in the post, “I’m so proud to help carry my father’s legacy forward while also building my own path in service. Let’s build.”
