Six Caribbean proverbs and wise sayings you need to know today

If you nah hear, you guh feel

This Guyanese proverb means “If you do not heed a warning, you will face the consequences.”

In Barbados, this warning is carried in the proverb “Hard ears yuh won’t hear, own way you gine feel,” (If you do not take heed to good advice, you will feel the negative effect of it).
