Rapper and business mogul Jay Z is a legend. Born Shawn Corey Carter, he is also a producer, songwriter and record executive,who is regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time.

His love for music began at a tender age as his mother revealed she bought him a boom box because he and his siblings would create beat patterns on the kitchen table at night. This passion was the right recipe to his journey to becoming one of the best of all time.

His first album which was released in 1996 was a worldwide success, following the successful launching of his record label, Roc-A-Fella Records. The launch of Roc-A-Fella Records stamped his foot on the music industry.

With a host of accomplishments, Jay-Z is one of the world’s best-selling music artistes with over 100 million records sold. He holds the record for most Grammy Awards won by a rapper and he became the first rapper to be honored into the songwriter Hall of Fame.
