Snoop Dogg has not been shy about admitting that Eazy-E’s diss track “Real Muthaphuckkin G’s” is a certified classic, though he was on the receiving end of some jabs in the song.

The American rap icon reflected on the infamous 1993 track during the 500th episode of The Bootleg Kev Podcast on Wednesday.

The song is a direct shot at Snoop, Dr. Dre, and Death Row Records, and it remains one of the ‘hard’ diss tracks in hip-hop history.

Snoop Dogg revealed that he plays the track on a daily basis on his “Cadillacc Radio” show and even raps along to its lyrics, especially the line, “Dre and your Do*gy Dogg think that y’all hoggin’ s*** / Both of you b****es can come and s*ck my do*gy.”

The track also featured Compton-based brothers B.G. Knocc Out and Dresta and quickly became both a local and national anthem, similar to Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ which has made waves over the past months.

The 53-year-old rapper acknowledged the track’s impact as huge, though it took a brutal takedown of him and Dre.

Snoop Dogg revealed that it was part of the ongoing feud at the time, which had escalated after Dre and Snoop dissed Eazy-E and Ruthless Records on their 1992 track “Dre Day” from The Chronic.

“At the time, it was an all-out war,” Snoop said. He added that he was not particularly thrilled with “Real Muthaphuckkin G’s” when it first dropped.

Eazy-E passed away in 1995, yet his legacy lives on, as does the music from his West Coast peers.

Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre recently released a collaborative album named ‘Missionary’ and it capped off a landmark year for California hip-hop.
