Rapper Snoop Dogg will be among the final torchbearers before Friday’s opening ceremony for the Olympics. Snoop, 52, will carry the torch through the northern Paris suburb of Saint-Denis, as announced by the town’s mayor, Mathieu Hanotin, on X (formerly Twitter).

In addition to his torchbearer role, Snoop will serve as a correspondent for NBC’s Olympic Games coverage, according to WFAA. He announced his arrival in Paris on Tuesday with a photo captioned, “U ready? Paris 2024 Olympics ya digggg.”

The Olympic torch has traveled across France for two months, with around 10,000 individuals chosen to carry the flame.

Joining Snoop as torchbearers on Friday are French actress Laetitia Casta, French rapper MC Solaar, and retired Ukrainian pole-vaulter Sergey Bubka, according to the town’s mayor.

The Olympic cauldron will be lit after the Opening Ceremony on the River Seine, featuring a nearly four-hour event with dozens of boats transporting thousands of Olympic athletes to the Eiffel Tower. The identity of the person chosen to light the Olympic cauldron remains a closely guarded secret.

The president of the Paris 2024 organizing committee revealed on Sunday that even the selected individual is unaware of their role.

The cauldron’s location in Paris is also being kept secret until the big reveal on Friday, with possible sites including the Eiffel Tower and the Tuileries Gardens outside the Louvre Museum.
