A family dispute turned deadly after an Alabama mother was gunned down by his own son before he was ultimately shot and killed by his brother.
In a statement, the Mobile Police Department said the fatal incident occurred on Sunday, June 8. Authorities said they responded to an address on the 1200 block of Ross Street after receiving a report about a shooting.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims deceased inside of the home. Upon further investigation, officers discovered the victims, along with a male subject, were related to one another,” the statement said.

Authorities said investigations determined that the victim, identified as Traci McDuffie, 52, was fatally shot by her 25-year-old son Brandon McDuffie.
“The investigation revealed Brandon McDuffie fatally shot his mother, Traci McDuffie, and that’s when Traci’s other son discovered what occurred,” the statement said. “At that point, Brandon McDuffie shot towards the other son, causing the other son to defend himself by shooting Brandon.”
Authorities said the 52-year-old’s death had been abated by her son’s death. “The death of Brandon McDuffie will be presented to a grand jury,” the statement added.
The First Baptist Church of Baltimore Street, Inc. identified the second son in a post on Facebook as 32-year-old Brent McDuffie, the eldest child.
