“My husbands 88-year-old grandma got married today It’s never too late for love,” Makenzie wrote in a video that captured moments from the intimate celebration on March 15, including a sweet slow dance and kiss.

“She was so happy,” Makenzie noted in the caption of her post, which has since garnered nearly 2 million views and 500,000 likes. Makenzie explained that the couple first met at the Senior Center of their church, where Moss is the coordinator.

Ashley had moved to South Carolina and began attending the center “to meet new people.”

Makenzie told People, “Pretty soon he had his eyes on this remarkable lady, who happened to be Wyona.” She added, “He then asked her to be his ‘special friend.’ Well, they got tired of going their separate ways each day and talking over the phone at night. Mr. Ashley decided that he needed to seal the deal.”

A year later, Ashley sought the blessings of both of their children before proposing at the Senior Center.

Once they agreed, wedding plans quickly followed, and in less than a month, they were married with their family’s help. Moss walked down the aisle to “I Believe in You and Me” by Four Tops.

Makenzie posted clips from the wedding in hopes of inspiring others, showing that love can come at any age.
