Spotify Wrapped 2024 has arrived and for the second consecutive year, Taylor Swift reigns as the platform’s most-streamed artist globally. The streaming giant unveiled its annual breakdown of global and individual listening trends on Wednesday, giving users access to their top artists, songs, genres, albums, and podcasts.
Swift amassed a staggering 26.6 billion streams this year, securing her spot at the top. She’s followed by The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake, and Billie Eilish. In the U.S., the lineup shifts slightly, with Swift still leading, trailed by Drake, Zach Bryan, Morgan Wallen, and Kanye West.
Last year, Swift unseated Puerto Rican reggaetón sensation Bad Bunny, who held the global top spot from 2020 to 2022.
Swift’s dominance extends to albums, with The Tortured Poets Department claiming the title of 2024’s most-streamed album globally. Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet, Karol G’s Mañana Será Bonito, and Ariana Grande’s eternal sunshine round out the global top five.
In the U.S., Swift’s album leads, followed by Morgan Wallen’s One Thing At A Time. Carpenter, Noah Kahan (Stick Season), and Chappell Roan (The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess) complete the list.
Carpenter’s “Espresso” earned the distinction of 2024’s most-streamed song, racking up over 1.6 billion plays worldwide. Globally, it’s followed by Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things,” Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” FloyyMenor and Cris MJ’s “Gata Only,” and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control.”

In the U.S., Carpenter leads once again, followed by Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s “I Had Some Help,” and Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby.”
Spotify Wrapped 2024 also introduced new features, including “Your Music Evolution,” a personalized data story highlighting three distinct phases of each user’s listening habits, and an updated “Your Top Artist” feature, which now tracks your longest listening streak in addition to showing your top-listener ranking.
As expected, major artists like Swift and Carpenter owe their top rankings to dedicated fanbases and prominent placements on Spotify’s curated playlists. For independent artists, reaching these global heights would require billions of streams.
Streaming continues to dominate the music industry, now accounting for 84% of music revenue in the U.S., according to the Recording Industry Association of America and 67.3% globally, per the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry’s 2024 report.
With over 626 million users and 246 million subscribers across 180+ markets, Spotify holds the largest share of the global streaming market at 31%.
