Suspended over extra-curricular activities
What you do in your free time should not be cause for extermination from your job, unless you’re harming someone.
Such is not the case for Kandice Mason, a teacher at West Hoke County Middle School.
The single mother of two also works as a part-time pole dancing instructor as a side hustle to earn extra money.
Well, that is of much consequence as Mason was suspended from her teaching position after only being at her new job for a month, according to The Grio.
After a video she posted on Facebook was shown to school administrators, she was let go.
Mason commented, “When I was suspended, I was humiliated… the superintendent, principal and another employee were in a room and berated me for my pole dancing video. I was really excited. I had already been given my classroom.”
