Larry Singleton Jr. is the co-owner of the Dallas-based boutique Private Selection, which is famed for its curated collection of high-end sneakers and streetwear.

Today, the visionary investor is turning his attention to his roots after recently announcing the successful acquisition of the largest historic building in the heart of downtown Burkburnett, Texas.

He plans to restore the historic bank building at 317 E 3rd Street in Burkburnett, Texas, creating a space for local commerce and community engagement, according to Black Business.

Singleton successfully acquired the property, which was originally built in 1920, following a 3-year rent-to-own agreement.

The century-old building served as a local dealership during the rise of the automobile in what was once the biggest oil boom town in the U.S., Black Business said.

“I’m incredibly honored to have the opportunity to invest in my hometown. Acquiring this historic property is not just about business for me—it’s about preserving a piece of our local history and providing a space that will spark revitalization in this community,” Singleton said, per the outlet.

“Growing up here, I always envisioned bringing something special to Burkburnett, and now I have the opportunity to do just that.”

Singleton plans to restore the property without ruining its architectural integrity, he said.

“I want this project to serve as an example for young entrepreneurs, especially those from small towns like Burkburnett,” Singleton added. “This building will not only make a positive economic impact, but it will also give the community something to be proud of—a symbol of resilience.”
