During an appearance on Angie Martinez’s IRL podcast, Angela Simmons revealed she’s no longer romantically involved with Memphis rapper Yo Gotti. Simmons, 37, and Gotti, 44, started dating in 2022.

The Run’s House star is touching on her relationship status after speculations swirled about their breakup, VIBE.com reported. She told Martinez that was the case.

“Are you telling me right now you’re in your single girl era again?” Martinez asked, with Simmons responding, “Not by choice, but you know, I respect him.”

“This man proclaimed that he wanted to get with Angela Simmons,” Martinez said in reference to Gotti shooting his shot at Simmons in his hit 2016 song, Down In The DM. “This man, like, pursued you, so you’re not telling me that he ended it, did he end the relationship?” she asked Simmons.

Simmons replied, “No, it was my choice, you know, I just, I had to make a decision.” The 37-year-old, however, did not expatiate on their breakup. “Some stuff is better left unsaid.”

She added: “Again, much love and respect to him, he’s doing his thing, I’m happy for him.”

After the rumors of their breakup started circulating, Simmons shared a social media post that indicated she was single. “I want what wants me in life. In all areas. What flows FLOWS. What goes GOES,” Simmons shared on her Instagram Stories in May.

Simmons was previously engaged to Sutton Tennyson, and they share an 8-year-old son. Tennyson was, however, tragically shot and killed outside his home on November 3, 2018.
