The oldest Black-owned businesses in the U.S. still operating today

The United States is experiencing an increase in the number of Black-owned businesses in the country, thanks to the renewed and sustained commitments and efforts to end the age-long color barriers and negative issues that affect the progress and success of the Black community in the country.

While more Black-owned businesses are expected to come on board, we look at some of the century-old and/or record-holding Black-owned businesses that still exist today. These companies hold significant influence and position in the Black community and in the history of the USA and have made tremendous marks across different industries in the USA.
