Rah Digga
“Her gruff vocal delivery, sharp sense of humor and overall skill, put Rah Digga head and shoulders above many, regardless of their gender,” HHW writes. The actor, activist and writer is well known for being a longtime member of the Flipmode Squad, a hip hop group led by Busta Rhymes. Rah Digga was described as “one of hip hop’s most skilled female MCs” in the book How to Rap. She learned how to rap by studying the raps of KRS-One, Rakim, and Kool G Rap of the Juice Crew. Digga later joined the Outsidaz, and that led to a feature on the track “Cowboys” from the Fugees album The Score.
