For children to grow up into well-rounded people, they need an environment that offers them the best in terms of education and health, among others. They also need to be protected from various situations including war.
According to the African Child Policy Forum’s new report, The African Report on Child Wellbeing 2018: Progress in the Child-Friendliness of African Governments, nine countries on the continent have failed in one way or another in offering child-friendly environment.
Some do not have adequate laws and policies to protect children and others do not have any budget for children services including immunisation and nutrition.
