Kenya

In 2017, Kenya made bags the making producing, selling and even using plastic bags illegal, in what is now the world’s toughest law on reducing plastic pollution.

Just like Rwanda, any plastic bag from visitors coming into the country is confiscated at entry points.

However, people are still using plastic despite the ban and the penalties, which includes a four-year jail term or Sh4 million fine.
