Fashion in Africa has always been diverse, reflecting the style of many ethnic groups, religions, and cultures. Since the inception of traditional wears, various groups on the continent have carved a niche to be known for a particular kind of dress pattern and style – the same can be said about music and food.

The African fashion industry has grown in size and is currently developing more participants, giving exposure to the millennials; structure and presence is gradually dominating while the commercial value of the industry is rapidly improving.

Due to its rapid rise, some prominent musicians across industries in Africa have made a conscious effort to maintain their African style despite the influx of foreign designer clothes. These musicians maintain their visibility and dress in their own local fashion brand or those of other prominent local designers.
