Egypt
Egypt ranked 58th in the 2019 GCI index with a 37 score. According to the report, despite the fact that investment has stagnated this year, Egypt scored higher in affordability of both fixed-line broadband and mobile broadband services.
The country’s geographical position allows it to connect to many cables that interconnect various parts of Europe with the Middle East and Asia. As a result, Egypt has achieved quite high scores for Internet download speeds, cloud computing, and Internet usage.
“Egypt also has good domestic fibre infrastructure, which is able to tap into international cables at several points,” the report said.
