As blockchain technology continues to evolve and bring things like cryptocurrencies and NFTs, the growing list of celebrities making moves in that space continues to increase. It has also attracted top celebrities across various fields: sports, entertainment, and business, among others.

NFT functions as a digital ledger and gives evidence of ownership. NFT has gained popularity courtesy of major involvement from auction houses. Many NFTs are digital artworks although there are other forms like the autograph of celebrities.

Below are the top Black celebrities with the most valuable NFT portfolios.

Serena Williams

Tennis star Serena Williams is one of the top investors in the NFT industry. She holds US$528,000 worth of NFTs, SCMP quoted The Richest. She owns Cryptopunk #2950 which was given to her by her husband Alexis Ohanian. Williams owns other NFTs and also serves on the board of European football NFT company Sorare as its official adviser.

Jay-Z

Jay-Z has built a reputation for himself as a top investor and one of the few Black billionaires in the world. He has a wide-ranging portfolio including Cryptopunk #6095, and a portrait and trainers from the RTFKT Cryptopunks Project. Jay-Z has a total investment of US$711,000 in NFTs. In 2021, he reportedly auctioned his own NFT for some $139,000, SCMP cited The Richest.

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg is one of the latest Hip Hop stars to experiment with NFT. He is reported to be one of the biggest investors in NFTs. Last year, he partnered with Chris Torres to launch their NyanDogg. In February, he collaborated with Sandbox Game on new offerings — a collection of 10,000 Snoop Dogg Avatar NFTs called The Doggies.

The Richest reports that Snoop has over 300 NFTs with a value of over US$20 million.

Snoop Dogg also created a Stash Box NFT collection in collaboration with Gala Music, a decentralized record company.
