Kamala Harris

The California native born to immigrant parents of Jamaican and Indian origin is number three on the list. She made history on November 7 by being the first Black and Indian woman in American history to be elected vice president.

Harris began shattering glass ceilings in 2010 when she became the first African American and the first woman to serve as California’s attorney general.

Then in 2016, Harris became the first Indian-American woman to be elected to the United States Senate. As an alumna of Howard University, she will be the first historically Black college or university graduate to be vice president.
