Samuel Eto’o racial abuse
Spanish football was seriously condemned in 2006 when Samuel Eto’o, then Barcelona’s Cameroon striker almost walked off the field in protest at racist abuse during his side’s 2-0 victory over Real Zaragoza.
Eto’o was throughout the game subjected to abuse from rival fans. Ball and bottles were also thrown at him.
