Hollywood has over the years been accused of being racially bias. This is due to the imbalance in roles allocated to specific projects.
Despite the pool of talents to choose from, the industry inculcates the habit of giving diverse roles to white actors or actresses. This racial disparity has provoked a backlash from fans and movie lovers.
According to a 2014 University of South California study, there is “Inequality in 700 popular films,” in which some of those parts are actually characters of color. The industry also lacks an amount of diversity behind and in front of the camera.
In this article, we cast the spotlight on some major Hollywood projects, originally Black characters or people of color but played by whites.
