Everyone’s child – 1996

This film was directed by the first Zimbabwean woman to write a novel, Tsitsi Dangaremba, who also became the first black woman in Zimbabwe to direct a feature film.

Despite crticisim, Everyone’s Child was also widely watched and celebrated as a true depiction of the lives of orphans. The movie centres around a brother and his sister who lose their parents to AIDS and have everything taken away from them.

The emotional movie is also remembered for the great young talent it portrayed.
