A 31-year-old Black mother says she’s had enough after being constantly asked whether her one-year-old daughter is biologically hers because her daughter is white and has completely different body features.
In July 2023, Morgan Hoffman and her 33-year-old husband Matt, from Florida, birthed their daughter Brooklyn who seems to have taken her father’s resemblance and body features.
Hoffman was surprised to see that Brooklyn’s features were completely different from hers and closely aligned to all of her husband’s lighter skin.

The 31-year-old mother has dark skin and near-black, curly hair. Her daughter however was born with lighter, olive-toned skin and medium brown locks.
Brooklyn has also dark blue eyes, which are perfectly aligned with her father’s.
Since she delivered her baby, Hoffman has come under criticism and is often asked questions about how her daughter has got little or none of her body features but rather that of her father.
Some strangers even reportedly told Hoffman she was not the one-year-old’s biological mother.

The couple, from Spring Hill, stated that strangers they often come across are shocked to hear that Brooklyn is Ms Hoffman’s real daughter.
Hoffman says she remembers being asked if her baby was hers by strangers who often gazed at them in disbelief.
‘Is she yours?’, one stranger asked.
The 31-year-old mother added that though some people she’s come across are stunned by the ‘beautiful’ looks of her daughter, they still couldn’t believe she was hers.
‘When Brooklyn was a few weeks old, I had a lady come up to me at a store. She said “She’s beautiful. Is she yours?”

‘When I said yes, she looked shocked, and I also had a man at the grocery store a few weeks ago ask if Brooklyn was my daughter’ ‘It was very random and odd to hear.’
