2019 has seen some of our favorite African musicians putting in extra work and being rightfully rewarded for it.
From chart-topping singles to winning coveted accolades, these superstars contributed immensely towards making African music global.
This year saw a couple of music heavyweights in the continent show their prowess while the others continued to strive to attain that height.

The year has particularly been a good one for Nigeria’s Burna Boy who won a string of local and international accolades and was even nominated for a Grammy award.
Another success story is youngster, Rema, whose slow jam “Dumebi” made serious waves in Africa and beyond. It even made it to former President Barack Obama’s summer playlist.
Ghana’s Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and Fuse ODG also showed why they are still relevant in the international stage.
