Ghana is on top, with 46.4 per cent of businesses in the country owned by women. The West African country also scores well in terms of advancement outcomes, meaning women are at par with their male counterparts in the many fields either professionally or technically.
Some of the noted female entrepreneurs include Kate Quartey-Papafio, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Reroy Cables Limited, one of the leading manufacturers of electrical cables in Ghana; Ruka Sanusi, founder and CEO of Alldens Lane, a boutique business strategy, consulting and coaching services firm and Joelle Eyeson, an entrepreneur creating affordable eco-housing solutions using rammed earth construction in Ghana.
