Top 6 black British female entrepreneurs who are succeeding against all odds

Ade Hassan — Forbes

Ade Hassan

The UK-born, London-based entrepreneur founded Nubian Skin in 2014 after difficulty in finding a suitable skin-tone lingerie and hosiery to go with her wardrobe.

With the knowledge that other women of colour would have that same problem, she came up with Nubian Skin lingerie which is currently selling bras, knickers, stockings and shoes in a variety of styles, sizes and skin tones than ever before.

Her brand serves people of colour and celebrity fans including singer Beyonce and her dancers from the 2016-2017 Formation World Tour. The 36-year-old’s brand has since received global media attention and her products can be seen on the shelves of major fashion retailers across the world.

For this feat, Hassan has been nominated for and won multiple awards including Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year.
