3. Obafemi Awolowo University – Ile-Ife, Nigeria
Several sites boast of the beauty of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), although some would say that most of that beauty lies it what it used to be. But despite not being in top condition, the architectural and landscaping beauty of OAU is undeniable.
In addition, its natural flora and fauna bolsters this university’s reputation as one of the most beautiful in Africa.
Founded in 1961 as the University of Ife, the school was renamed in 1987. Perhaps one of the most impressive parts of the university is its expansive library that boasts more than 300,000 titles and 752,000 volumes of monographs, government publications, theses, and audio-visual material — many of which have been fully computerized and made available online.
