Cape Verde also retained its second position in Africa and 25th globally with a 20.15 score.

What distinguishes it, according to the report, is the absence of attacks on journalists and the exceptional media freedom, which is guaranteed by the constitution.

Many of the country’s media, including TCV (the main TV channel) and Radio Nacional de Cabo Verde, are state-owned and their directors are appointed by the government. Their content is not controlled, but self-censorship is widely practiced.
