American rapper and singer Travis Scott has smashed the record for ticket and merchandise sales in Japan due to his “Tokyo Takeover.”
On November 8, 34-year-old Scott performed his biggest headlining performance ever at the Belluna Dome in Tokorozawa, Japan, much to the delight of many fans.
Right before the show, the rapper announced a “Tokyo Takeover” that brought a unique Cactus Jack pop-up experience and more to the city, helping him to set a new sales record.

Scott’s stadium show was the highest-grossing show of any hip-hop artist in Tokyo history, according to a press release.
Also, Scott’s Belluna Dome Collection broke the record for merch sales at any concert in Tokyo, according to Complex.
Between November 7 and November 9, Scott’s Cactus Jack had a pop-up experience in Shibuya that came with exclusive items made in partnership with Takashi Murakami and Fragment’s Hiroshi Fujiwara.
During the record-breaking show, the 34-year-old rapper shocked his fans by bringing out Kanye West to perform some of his classic songs.

A video shared online shows Ye removing a mask to reveal himself as he launched into “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.”
Fan posts online indicate that Scott and Ye performed multiple songs together, including “Runaway,” “Heartless,” “Flashing Lights,” “Stronger,” and “All of the Lights.”
Only days ago, Travis Scott predicted on X that he would soon be crowned a Grammy winner.
On the day the 2026 Grammy nominees were announced, he responded to a post listing artists—including himself—who have never won. This will change for me one day,” the rapper wrote. “Just wait.”

At the 2024 Grammys ceremony, Scott, whose previous nominations include Best Rap Album nods for Utopia and Astroworld, voiced his frustrations during a live rendition of fan-favorite “FE!N” with Playboi Carti during a performance.
“They slept on me 10 times!” Travis Scott said at the time, with a line from the hit Utopia track’s first verse.
In the past, Scott and those close to him have aired similar frustrations in connection with prior snubs for his 2016 album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight.
The top songs vying for Best Rap Album at the upcoming 2026 ceremony are Clipse’s Let God Sort Em Out; GloRilla’s Glorious; J.I.D’s God Does Like Ugly; Kendrick Lamar’s GNX; and Tyler, The Creator’s CHROMAKOPIA.
Although the official host of the ceremony is yet to be announced, winners will be unveiled during a live ceremony next February.
