Wendy Williams believes Donald Trump – the all but confirmed outgoing president of the United States – “has every right” to demand an investigation into the recently ended 2020 election if he feels he was cheated.

Following the announcement of Joe Biden as president-elect by several media houses on Saturday, Trump – with the full backing of some GOP members and supporters – has continued to make unsubstantiated and baseless claims of electoral fraud, even going as far as launching legal action in some states, including Pennsylvania.

While the debate on the validity of Trump’s assertions ensues, Williams, during Monday’s episode of her eponymous talk show, said the 45th president is justified in challenging the election results if he feels there were irregularities.

“I do believe that Donald Trump, our president, has every right to investigate,” the 56-year-old said. “If he feels this election was stolen from him, then he has the right. He and his chief counsel, Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who have been on TV all weekend long explaining what’s going to happen, then he has the right.”

She, however, concluded with an appeal: “Just, Mr. President, if I can ask one favor of you on behalf of all of us: Don’t hold the process up too much. We must move on with our lives.”

Though Trump remains adamant, multiple world leaders have already moved to congratulate Biden and Harris on their victory.
