Talk show host, Wendy Williams, has lashed out at the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.

In a recent chat with ITV, Markle disclosed that she had no clue what getting serious with Prince Harry would mean for her future when her British friends warned her that the local tabloids would “destroy” her after the marriage.

“When I first met Harry, my friends were so excited. My U.S. friends were happy because I was happy,” Markle said. “But my British friends, they were sure he was lovely, but they said I shouldn’t do it because ‘The British tabloids will destroy your life.’ I just didn’t get it,” she said in the documentary titled ‘Harry & Meghan: An African Journey’.

“You knew what you were signing up for girl! Meghan, nobody feels sorry for you,” Williams said Tuesday on her hit talk show. “Don’t try to garner sympathy from us. You knew what you were doing. …Harry and Meghan have nothing to lose by moving to America.”

Williams, 55, went on to refer to Markle’s British friend as “some hating-ass girlfriend,” suggesting that Meghan could be lying to try and get sympathy.

Williams didn’t stop there. She again suggested to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to divide their time between the United States, England and somewhere on the continent of Africa.

“Move to America and live part-time in Africa like you want to do. You have to still go back to England. The thing about moving to America is, you’re really kicking the royal thing out of your life. So, have a place in all three places. Have a mansion in Malibu, a big hut, y’know ― I’ve never been to Africa, I don’t know ― a big hotel or wherever you’re gonna live in Africa and then have your royal palace-eques-type place in England,” she said.

Williams sees no reason why Markle is surprised that the paparazzi is after her. “Of course, because you’re now a royal. They weren’t following you when you were on ‘Suits,’ we didn’t even know who you were except when you came for employment here at Wendy and wanted to be one of our runway models,” she said.

While viewers around the world were captivated by last weekend’s ITV documentary, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey in which the royals openly talked about their relationship and being in the public eye and how baby Archie’s arrival has changed their lives, Williams seem unimpressed.

In the documentary, Meghan disclosed how motherhood in the spotlight has been a “struggle”. “On top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed. Not many people have asked if I’m OK. But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes,” Meghan said.

Williams’ comment about Meghan living in a hut in Africa has obviously attracted a lot of criticism, especially from Africans who find her assertions uncalled for.

However, Williams isn’t the only one hitting hard at Markle. The 79-year-old Loose Women’s presenter, Gloria Hunniford is of the view that the royals shouldn’t have been so outspoken about their struggles.

After having met a lot of underprivileged people in Africa and then all of a sudden Markle is talking about the strain and the stress, Hunniford says she has great empathy for the public job that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have to do but doesn’t think a documentary is a right place to talk about that.
