Last month, Morgan made headlines when she ran the 7 Continents Marathon for the SECOND TIME!
But the major feat didn’t stop Morgan from taking on the “World’s Coolest Marathon” just a few weeks later.
The 42-year-old Mother of four boys said of her latest accomplishment, where temperatures
reportedly sank as low as -41C, “I was just singing and praying and when I got to the bend where I could see where other people had planted their flags.
“I kept saying to myself, I have to plant the Nigerian flag there; your country’s flag has to be there.”
In the 26.2-mile race, Morgan ran with 45 other competitors from 22 countries.
Believe it or not, Morgan only began running in October of 2011, after being fed up with her then-weight of 266 pounds that she gained with the birth of her fourth son.
At the behest of her co-worker, she joined a gym, where walking turned into jogging and jogging turned into running.
By December of 2011, Morgan completed her first half-marathon, with a full-marathon being completed just a month later in Dubai.
Since then, Morgan has run in 34 full-marathons, including her North Pole run, and is just entering her fourth year of running.
In a recent interview, Morgan spoke to what she plans to achieve for the rest of the year, “I have at least seven marathons left this year by God’s grace as I will try to get to 40 by the end of the year.”
