Rare photos and videos of the last days of rapper Tupac Shakur have been shown by investigators after they made the first-ever arrest in connection with his murder. Duane ‘Keffe D’ Davis is facing charges connected to the rapper’s tragic death in September 1996. The release of the visual content marks a significant step in the long-standing investigation into the unsolved case.

The video reveals Shakur and Death Row Records CEO Marion ‘Suge’ Knight leading a large group in an assault on rival gang member Orlando ‘Baby Lane’ Anderson in the MGM Grand lobby shortly before the fatal shooting.

In the footage, Shakur and several members of the gang are seen kicking Anderson while he’s on the ground. Despite the presence of security guards, no intervention takes place. Shakur and Knight eventually depart the scene before the police arrive, according to the Daily Mail.

Law enforcement has maintained the belief that Anderson, along with associates including Davis, his uncle, regrouped after the MGM Grand altercation with the alleged intent to locate and fatally harm Shakur on the same night.

Davis was arrested in Henderson, Nevada, following a grand jury indictment on charges of murder with a deadly weapon, along with a gang enhancement. Witnesses in the case have identified Davis as a member of the South Side Crips and a known drug trafficker.

Shakur had affiliations with gangs like the Bloods and Mob Piru but was not regarded as a member. For years, Davis has openly spoken about his alleged involvement in the rapper’s murder in various interviews and even detailed it in a memoir chronicling his life in the streets.

The initial arrest connected to Shakur’s 1996 murder investigation stems from the inquiry into the killing of Biggie Smalls. Shakur was in a BMW driven by Knight when a Cadillac pulled up beside them, leading to a fatal shooting incident in September. Shakur sustained multiple gunshot wounds and passed away at the age of 25 a week later.

Davis had long been on investigators’ radar as one of four early suspects. Although he is not accused of being the gunman, authorities have described him as the group’s ringleader in both news conferences and court proceedings.

Recently, investigators disclosed that they presented various photos, including four of Shakur’s deceased body, to grand jury members. The jury was also shown multiple interviews featuring Davis discussing the murder. Davis is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Wednesday.

Knight, who was driving Shakur at the time of the shooting, has told TMZ that he does not intend to cooperate with the police or testify in Davis’ trial.
