On the evening of Sunday, October 19, 2024, Atlanta native and superstar, Usher, took the stage at Vice President Kamala Harris’ rally in his hometown and said he wanted her as the next president of the United States.

Making his way to the stage, Usher sang and danced with the crowd, and upon delivering his speech, he said, “Normally I’m up here to entertain, but it’s for something far more significant for Atlanta, and all of Georgia.”

He said this is a “momentous opportunity for each and every one of us… and we have the opportunity to choose a new generation of leadership for our country.”

Usher went on to explain why he is supporting “the next president of the United States: Kamala Harris.” He added, “I’m supporting Vice President Kamala Harris because she fights for everyone’s rights. For freedom and it doesn’t matter where you’re from. She has a vision for our country that includes everyone. A vision that supports small business, invests in our health, our communities, and gives everyone a chance to get ahead.”

Usher added that the people of Atlanta have lived through some very unfortunate realities of their past, but that notwithstanding, it is important they learn from those moments and understand that the voice they have makes the difference that they want to see.

A fan in the crowd shouts, “We love you, Usher,” to which he responds, “I love you more, but I love Kamala Harris even more.” He continued, “I want her to be our next president of the United States. And we can do it, but we’re going to do it together.”
