It happened 35 years ago but concert-goers who were fortunate to witness that historic day always feel nostalgic anytime that performance pops up.
Everything was going on well with legendary African-American singer, songwriter, producer and actress Diana Ross’ performance at Central Park until the rains attempted to end it abruptly.
35 years ago in Central Park, in a storm not unlike the one we’re waiting to hit NYC right now, Diana Ross gave the concert of a lifetime for fans and HBO. Unperturbed by the incoming storm, Ross defied all odds and went ahead with her performance until organizers decided to end it due to safety reasons. She, however, returned the next day with an equally memorable and thrilling performance.
