Ethiopia
Ethiopia’s tech history reminds me of a possible Wakandan past.
Although the country’s startup tech scene may only be burgeoning, the country has a rich tech history. Historians, mathematicians, and engineers around the world say that Ethiopians were using binary numbers for computations long before computers. In short, Ethiopians were walking computers before they were created! What a Wakanda!
What’s more? The country boasts Africa’s best airline company and has just created Africa’s first energy plant that converts trash into electricity.
Unfortunately, Ethiopia just declared a 6-month state of emergency because of its Prime Minister just resigned. When the situation calms, it is another country besides Egypt – popularly cited for its ancient technology, to visit for its rich technological history.
