The Jackson family from which Michael Jackson emerged had an interesting run and a tragic streak in the eyes of some. And in one of those bizarre episodes, Alejandra Oaziaza was intimate with Randy Jackson as well as elder bother Jermaine Jackson, birthing children for both.
Randy Jackson—a singer-songwriter, musician, and dancer from the Jackson stock but seven years younger than Jermaine and three years younger than Michael missed out on their Motown fame as he was too young.
How It All Started
He met Oaziaza in 1986 when she was about 17, and he was 24. The pair dated for a long time but never married, having two children—Genevieve and Steven Randy Jr.
Oaziaza claimed, “Randy didn’t treat me like I was the one,” adding, “I just thought that Jermaine was different, that he was more family oriented.”
That thinking led Jermaine and Oaziaza to secretly marry in March 1995, going on to have children Jaafar, Donte, and Jermajesty. Donte being an adopted child.
Randy was stunned by the betrayal noting, “she’s a pig, and my brother is a fool.”
Curiously enough, Jermaine didn’t understand Randy’s anger in general, stating, “He needs to get over it and leave all the petty stuff behind and act like a man.” This is in reference to claims Randy was not paying child support after getting to know about his brother and ex-lover.
For years, the brothers refused to speak to one another. While Jermaine stole away, then married the mother of his younger brother, Randy’s children, sources indicate that Oaziaza herself had an affair with Randy Jackson when he was married to Eliza Shaffe. That affair produced daughter, Genevieve, and it was after Randy divorced Shaffe and continued dating Oaziaza that they birthed son, Randy Jr., in 1991. When Jermaine struck, it ended their relationship in 1994.
Jermaine converted to Islam, and in 1999, while still married to Alejandra, he and a lady Lawanda had a “wedding” at a local mosque.
How It Ended
Jermaine divorced Alejandra in 2004, leaving the divorce papers behind in the house as he went on tour. In 2005, he married Halima Rashid, who comes from a wealthy Mideast family. In 2016 the couple went through a tumultuous divorce, shortly after which Jermaine started dating Maday Velazquez.
Jermaine Jackson was the original lead singer of the legendary Jackson 5 musical group; he was also one of the country’s first teenage sex symbols back in the late 1960s.
He once was famously married to Motown founder Berry Gordy’s daughter, Hazel, for 15 years before getting divorced.
When Jermaine’s voice changed radically during puberty, patriarch Joe Jackson substituted Michael Jackson into the lead singing role. It led to Jermaine’s occasional outbursts about his shine being stolen from him, threatening to publish books revealing sordid details about Michael, and sometimes also defending him in the face of scandals.
