Will Smith is expected to present at the 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards, marking his first appearance on a major awards show since the infamous Chris Rock slap in 2022.
The legendary actor was named on the list of presenters for the iconic event by the Recording Academy through a press release.
Smith is amongst a great list of musicians presenting at the Grammy Awards on February 2, with the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Cardi B, Taylor Swift and Victoria Monét.
Reports indicate that it is unlikely Smith will be performing at the historic event that evening, yet is expected to take to stage, and many of his fans are eager to see how it all unfolds.
Will Smith announced this week he will be putting out his first album since 2005, titled “Based on a True Story.”
The album is expected to be released in March, as Smith hopes for an impactful year across all fronts.
Smith’s upcoming appearance at the Grammys will be the first major awards show since he aggressively took to the stage to slap Rock for making jokes about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
That moment took the world by storm, and began when Smith started to yell at Rock on stage from his front-row seat at the Oscars, “Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth!”
That night, Smith won the first Academy Award of his career for King Richard but was banned from attending all Academy events, including the Oscars, for the next decade.
His return is a delight for his fans, and the world will most certainly be keeping close tabs on the event on February 2 to witness his return after missing out on him in the last few years.
