Forsaking the pleasures of wealth:Although most of Africa’s presidents are documented to be living lavishly, the poorest among them attract massive support and respect from their citizens. With a continent reeking of institutionalised corruption and money laundering, a prospective president may want to consider going simple in their political ambition with the virtue of moderation being their hallmark. President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria is best known for such a virtue. He has been labelled the poorest leader in sub-Saharan Africa and possibly the least corrupt leader in Africa ever since a report by his senior advisor showed Buhari was worth N30 million – equivalent to US $150,000. This leader has the highest potential to turn West Africa’s largest economy into a first-class one!
